Charlie Gere took over as Chair of CHArt (the Computers and the History of Art group) in 2003. In his day-job he is Head of Department at the Institute for Cultural Research at Lancaster University. He has written extensively on the cultural impact of technology and media and his publications include 'Digital Culture' (Reaktion, 2002) and 'Art, Time and Technology' (Berg, 2006).
