The Department of History at Carleton University invites applications for an entry-level tenure-track position in the Digital Humanities at the rank of Assistant Professor. The candidate should be an historian whose research engages innovative theoretical and methodological approaches. Place and periodization are open. Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in history or a related field, a strong commitment to scholarship reflected in publications, an active research profile, and demonstrated excellence and innovation in teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in both undergraduate and graduate programs, including our Public History MA program. We welcome candidates who, in addition to teaching in their own field, could contribute to our core curriculum offerings in historical theory and methods. The successful applicant will also be expected to develop a program of research leading to significant peer-reviewed publications, and to contribute effectively to academic life in the department and in the university.
