forum: Social approaches within the Digital Humanities (Projects)

We have just started a new group on Arts-Humanities.net with a focus upon social approaches or 'web 2' within the Digital Humanities. If you would like to join thus group, it can be found here: http://www.arts-humanities.net/deliberative_humanism_social_...

The aim of this group is to critically discuss and share thoughts about the use of social software applications, techniques, and principles within the Digital Humanities. The group has a broad focus and is open to all disciplines.

We would be very interested to hear from you about humanities projects that allow users to annotate, discuss, and (implicitly or explicitly) aid the scholarly process through online 'architectures of participation'. Projects might be produced by humanists (such as Virtual Research Environments) or simply social software applications that have been appropriated by humanists in an interesting way.

Listing and discussing these projects will help in understanding some of the collaboration approaches utilised so they can be imparted to others.

How do humanists feel about 'web 2' approaches in research, what are the projects of note (the good, the bad, and the ugly), and what could they be doing better (definition of 'web 2' and indeed 'social software on the group page)?

Kind regards,

Craig
