event: Alliance for Permanent Access Annual Conference 2009

The Alliance for Permanent Access aim is to foster the development of an ecosystem of trusted digital repositories to enable Europe to fully exploit the potential of European scientific collaboration. The accessibility (permanent), quality assurance and preservation of key data collections are and will be one of the major driving forces for the advancement of science but also for applications thereof.

The theme of the 2009 Annual Conference is:

Keeping the Records of Science Accessible: towards a sustainable science data e-infrastructure!

This year’s conference will focus on developments in scientific communities (social sciences, earth observation and high energy physics). In addition cross-communities topics among others R&D and technical tools, funding and sustainable business models, certification / accreditation mechanism will be addressed.

Participation is open for scientists, preservation specialists, policy makers (European, national and regional), funding organisations, charities & foundations, research organisations, publishers, industry, data repositories, service providers, libraries, national archives, storage vendors and software & hardware vendors.
