blog: Site offline 1+2 November

Dear Digital Artists and Humanists,

As announced earlier this year, we are in the process of making various changes to arts-humanities.net, including the provision of new content. Currently, we are merging arts-humanities.net with ICT Guides, a JISC funded database of ICT projects, tools and methods. To prepare this, arts-humanities.net will have to be taken offline for a little while. In order to minimise the impact on site visitors and contributors, we have decided to schedule the maintenance work for this weekend (Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd November). We apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope that you will bear with us during the necessary process of updating and migration. The updated version of arts-humanities.net will then be made accessible mid-November.

I would also like to use this occasion to point you to our email notification system. arts-humanities.net can send you notifications about new or updated content posted to the site. You can subscribe to groups you are a member of, to individual pages, to types of content (such as Events or Jobs) and also to tags (such as History or Data Curation).
You can decide whether you want to be notified immediately after a new post has been made or whether you want emails sent every three hours, once a day and so on. All notification emails can also be compiled into one digest email sent at certain intervals. The Subscriptions tab in your user profile allows you to configure this, including turning notifications off completely.
Why not check whether your settings do still reflect the way you would like to be updated on new content? You could also use this chance to update your user profile - listing your research interests will automatically build links to other members of the community who have similar interests.

Please do contact me if you have further questions or suggestions!

Kind regards,
Torsten Reimer
