From the author: The assertion of this paper is that the methodology known as knowledge representation has profound implications for humanities computing, and through humanities computing, has the potential to change the way humanities scholarship is done, to change the nature of graduate education in the humanities, and to change the relationship between the humanities and other professions, let alone other disciplines.
